be Kind...

for everyone you meet

About Angela

I have been in the mental health field for over twenty years.   As a clinical social worker, I have been in a number of different roles and provided counseling in a number of different types of practice-

older adults and aging, adult mental health, adolescent and family counseling, and crisis intervention to name a few.

As a therapist or counselor, I truly believe that my relationship with my clients is the single most important contributor to their success.  As such, you can expect that you and your problems will be approached with the utmost of respect and compassion and that the information that you disclose in therapy will be handled in a confidential and caring manner.  While I treat a variety of issues, I specialize in issues related to codependency, for example, setting healthy boundaries, self-esteem, caretaking issues, communication problems and anger.

I have worked closely with specially trained consult-liaison psychiatrists for over eight years, making me an excellent candidate for case consultation.  I have refined the ability to tease out differential diagnoses to a degree which many clinicians in private practice have not been exposed and I have an exceptional working knowledge of medications and their effects.

As a clinical supervisor, I have supervised dozens of new clinicians and helped them to master the art of creating therapeutic alliances and interventions for their clients.  I foster a supportive environment that allows the new clinician to work through their own "stuff," creating a more competent and present therapist who is ready for the real world and armed with resilience.
